Just 8 months time and now they’re looking proudly at their new racing car: About 50 students from Technikum Mittweida Motorsport (TMM) constructed, designed and built “TOURO” (portug.: “bull”) the “small black bull with golden horns”.
It’s just the second car the team has made and it’s much better than the first one: The wheelbase is shorter and the track width bigger. With around 280 kg, Touro is 80 kg lighter than the last car.
Moreover the chassis suspension and the transmission have been rated for acceleration/handling and not like last time for speed. And the chassis does not cover the whole car.
A very special thing is the intake system which has been self constructed from Carbon. The bodywork consists of a steel tube frame and a fiber glass chassis. The engine is like the year before a Honda CBR with a control unit from Trijekt. The impact attenuator consists of Aluminium foam. TMM and its TOURO will start at this years Formula Student Germany and at a smaller race on the Erzgebirgsring in Saxony.
