2008 was the first competition of the Formula SAE Virginia instead. 28 teams participated. Until 22 December, the teams got the cange for the first event in 2009 to register. 50 slots were to be awarded.

Only 40 teams took advantage of the opportunity and reported on. Lancer Motorsports, Durmach UOIT Motorsports from Canada and MHSSC Racing from India are the only international teams.

In April, we will see the first racecars under the new regulations!
